My Story
When I was a little girl, I had big dreams for myself. I wanted to be an event planner and travel the world. I studied abroad in Florence, Italy and graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.
What I didn’t know is that my life had entirely different plans for me.
Life can be funny like that.
In my late teens, I suffered from something I knew nothing about. For years I battled a painful addiction to drugs and alcohol that fully had me in its grip, with no way out. At 23 years old I was admitted to my last treatment center and within the first 30 days, I found out I was pregnant with my son.
I thought getting sober was the hardest thing I was ever going to have to do...until I became a first-time single mother of a newborn baby I was not prepared for.
These were some of the hardest years my life.
